Have an interest in visual or performing arts or creative writing? The Putney School has what you're looking for!


The Putney School Summer Program offers students an opportunity to explore the visual arts, performing arts, and creative writing, as well a Farm Program. The following workshops are available over the summer at The Putney School:

Arts workshops
Visual Arts
includes animation, ceramics, drawing, filmmaking, glass arts, jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, textile design & fiber arts
and wearable arts.
Performing Arts includes theater, modern dance, audio art, chamber music, music composition, songwriting and vocal ensemble.
Students work with professional artists, dancers, actors and musicians in intensive workshops and studios.

 
Creative Writing workshops
Creative writing students work with authors to create, critique and publish poems, short stories and plays. The Creative Writing workshops focus on Fiction Writing, Poetry Writing,
Playwriting and Writing Intensive.


Farm Program
Students have an opportunity to learn about sustainable agriculture on The Putney School's working farm which includes a dairy herd, small animals (pigs, sheep, turkeys and chickens) and vegetable gardens. Students can also learn about horsemanship.

Applications are currently being accepted!


While The Putney School is currently accepting applications, there is no application deadline. However, applications are accepted on a rolling basis so you are encouraged to apply early!

Financial aid is also available. The deadline for applying for financial aid is March 1! Aid is awarded based on the financial needs of the family, the ability of the student, the enrollment needs of the program, and the resources available in the financial aid fund.
