Engineering, Science and Computer programs available at Carnegie Mellon's Summer Programs for Diversity!

Rising juniors and seniors who are considering careers in engineering, science and other math-based disciplines are encouraged to apply to SAMS: The Summer Academy for Mathematics and Science.

To participate in SAMS, students must be at least 15 years old and the program will focus on creating interest in technical disciplines and building academic and personal skills to prepare students for the college application process. Students will be involved in hands-on engineering and science projects that will allow them to apply concepts and principles introduced in the classroom. The Carnegie Mellon Summer Academy for Mathematics and Science runs from June 30 to August 10, 2012.

In addition to SAMS, rising seniors have an opportunity to participate in the Advanced Placement/Early Admission (AP/EA) program. At Carnegie Mellon, the academic units earned in the AP/EA program can be applied towards graduation requirements.

The following programs are also available at Carnegie Mellon: architecture, art and design, drama, music or the National High School Game Academy. These programs will also run from
June 30 to
August 10, 2012.

Applications and application materials are due on April 1, 2012 and to apply to any of the available programs, please visit: https://webapp.as.cmu.edu/precollege/sams/biographical.html. The application is online and cannot be saved. Before beginning the application process, you should have:
