The
United Planning Organization (UPO) has as its core commitment, the goal of uniting people
with opportunities to create thriving and self-sufficient residents. To this
end, UPO awards Joseph A. Beavers Scholarships to
ambitious students who aspire to change
the quality of their lives through the pursuit of higher
education.
UPO annually awards
five (5), $10,000 Joseph A. Beavers
Scholarships to be used towards post secondary education.
Successful scholarship candidates exhibit qualities that reflect UPO’s mission
and vision of a community thriving by
maximizing opportunities for self-sufficiency. Beavers’ scholars
have the shared qualities of persevering
through adversity and the recognition of the importance of higher
education to improve their lives.
