The School for Ethics and Global Leadership (SEGL) is a semester-long, college-prep opportunity in Washington, DC for highly motivated rising juniors.

At SEGL, you will live with amazing people from across the country and during your classes, you will confront ethical questions, leadership dilemmas, and international challenges in the world’s most influential city.


Interested sophomores can apply for either the Fall 2012 or Spring 2013 semester (applications are due next Wednesday, February 15, 2012). Financial aid is available.

If you believe that the world needs better leaders and you want to become one of them, SEGL might be right for you and you are encouraged to apply today!

The Fall 2012 program begins on August 25 and ends on December 15 (including a long weekend in October and Thanksgiving recess). The Spring 2013 will begin on January 26 and will end on May 25 (including a two-week recess in March).

Although SEGL’s tuition, room, and board for 2012/13 is $23,990, Financial Aid is available. Families who are interested in financial aid should file Parent Financial Statements with the School and Student Service for Financial Aid, a program of the National Association of Independent Schools, by February 15th.

To apply for financial aid, please visit http://sss.nais.org/parents/. Then, please email SEGL’s admissions office to let them know that you are beginning the application process.

Note: in order to apply for financial aid, you will need to enter the SEGL school code: 5063. SEGL also requires the submission of tax forms, including your 2010 Form W-2 and Form 1040. Please have these items on hand when you begin the online application. If you plan on submitting hard copies, please allow time for them to arrive in advance of the February 15 deadline.

Please note: SSS charges a $37 fee for the financial aid application. A limited number of families may qualify for a fee waiver from SEGL. For more information, please contact the SEGL Admissions office.
